ABOUT LAKE ANNA MARINA
In 1968 Virginia power approached our
family about selling 300 acres of our farm land to build a lake, ours
along with other families in the area helped to create what is now
over 200 miles of beautiful shoreline.
The lake was being created to
cool the North Anna power plant. However, since our family was privy to
specs for the lake we built a new home and boat docks prior to basin
construction in our cow fields. Neighbors thought we were bizarre
to do this at the time but we saw an opportunity coming. This
new lake was going to be big, and little did we know one of the premier
vacation spots in central Virginia.
When hurricane Agnes came in 1972 the
now cleared farmland along the North Anna and Pamunkey River filled the
hollowed basin. Now our docks didn't look so silly! Joe and Rosie Boggs
ran the marina first called lake no'anna marina. The name didn't stick
but the business sure did.
When a fire broke out in 1980 burning
the store to the ground, businesses and customers from all over the
lake came and helped to rebuild and restock the beloved establishment.
We were staying because we loved what we were doing, and still do.
Joe and Rosie still run the marina
today and soon it will be continued with the help of their daughter and
son-in-law. Family run and family minded, that's our motto. We look
forward to helping you enjoy all that Lake Anna has to offer and hope
that you love it as much as we do.

FISHING
Whether you are six or sixty fishing at
Lake Anna is always a "reel" treat, don't worry the fishing here is not
"crappy", but we have crappy.
We also have largemouth bass, bluegill,
sunfish, and channel catfish. Stockings have also included striped
bass, walleye, blue back herring, threadfin shad, and carp.
Annual stockings of bass and walleye
continue in order to maintain these fisheries. Year round 24-hour
fishing brings families and pros from all over.
